You must present application together with the Abstract
of Title form.
In completing the application the nature of the Land
deed (Transfer/ Sales/ Gift) should be clearly
mentioned.
All assessments, taxes and money owed to the council for
the relevant property must be paid before handing over
the deed summary sheet to the office. If not paid, your
requirement will not be fulfilled. Here, the boundary
should be written according to the survey plan.
The assessment number and and the street/ road/ Avenue
should be mentioned correctly in the Abstract of Tiltle
form.
If your requirement is not fulfilled within 10 days
please meet the Head of Assessment Tax in the accounts
Department. In here, if the name amended as the owner of
the total land it should be completed by the lawyer as
"complete", and if the name is amended as the owner of a
part of the land, as "a part".
The Registration Fee applicable for registering the name
according to the nature of the land deed mentioned in
abstract of title form should be settled off at the time
of submitting in abstract of title form.
In case of any correction or change in the deed summary
sheet, the change should be confirmed by the signature
attorney or notary of the place.
To get the application (legal officer) the applicant should pay
the amount and inform the institution.

It is mandatory to certify from the
Western Province Revenue Department that stamp duty has
been duly paid on gift and freehold deeds registered
after 31/ 03/ 2013

NIC of the new owner / present owner
The survey plan of the land certified as
true copies by a recognized lawyer
The deed, through which land ownership was
transferred, certified as true copies by a
recognized lawyer
For name mismatch, lawyer to confirm no
ownership in assessment register and provide
ancestry record. If "the owner" mentioned,
provide 30 years ancestry record
If the life interest holder is alive,
provide a statement confirming no
obligations for name amendment. If deceased,
submit the death certificate
If the documents are scanned and forwarded to the Municipal Council,
a printing fee of Rs.500 will be charged. Otherwise, the applicant should
arrange to send the relevant documents to the office by registered post within 10 days.
